Six of our companies were selected to present their startups at SETsquared’s Investment Futures 24 showcase in London this November.

Kailash Manohara Selvan from SpatialCortex with Jack Jordan Connelly at SETsquared Investment Futures eventInvestment Futures is an annual high-profile occasion that over its 19-year history has showcased hundreds of the best UK technology, science and innovation-led startups across six SETsquared centres, helping them raise more than £160m.

SETsquared Bristol’s Astral Systems, DRIFT Energy, Impulsonics, Mapstack, SpatialCortex Technology and TherMap Solutions pitched their innovative technologies, from healthtech to net zero solutions, to over 150 investors in attendance.

Kailash Manohara Selvan, Founder and CEO at SpatialCortex Technology, said: “The event provided us with a great opportunity to present our proposition to SETsquared’s investor community. The unparalleled support throughout the programme meant that we were able to put our best foot forward. I am confident that connections made during the event will be fruitful in the long-term.”

Kimberley Brook, Director of SETsquared Bristol, said: “Pitching at Investment Futures is a huge achievement for the companies; the selection process is competitive and was open to over 400 businesses this year. These six companies are definitely ones to watch and are following in the footsteps of companies that have drawn significant market traction; to date our supported companies have exceeded £660m in capital raised.”

Joe Halfpenny, Investment Associate at Maven Capital Partners, said: “There was a good mix of early and later-stage companies which suits both the ambitions of our VC fund, which invests between £1m – £5m, and one of the regional funds we represent – the South West Investment Fund – which invests between £250k – £2m.”

This year’s event was about looking ahead at the investment landscape. It included a series of roundtable discussions to enable the investment ecosystem to come together and tackle the challenges facing deep tech investment in 2024.

There was also a keynote speech about SETsquared’s new IMPACT-IP programme, which aims to increase connectivity between university TTOs, investors and professional service firms to increase the pace of concluding commercialisation deals and spinout creation. Investors interested in getting involved with IMPACT-IP can register their interest here.

Investors can find out more about the companies that pitched at this event, plus others, on SETsquared’s Investment Platform.

SETsquared’s next Investment Showcase will be online on 1 February 2024, with the opportunity to see 15 of the best tech startups across Europe. Register your place.
