We were delighted to be ‘Highly Commended’ in the Bristol Life Award’s Business Services category at last night’s ceremony, on 11th April 2019, celebrating the very best of Bristol’s businesses. It is a fantastic achievement to be recognised amongst an impressive range of local companies, from charities to corporates. The Business Services category had over 40 entries, with 11 shortlisted companies, so SETsquared Bristol are honoured to receive this recognition.

Our Alumnus, One Big Circle, were also nominated in the Best New Business category, and our partners, Unit DX, for the Technology and Innovation award.

SETsquared Bristol’s Mentors have also been shortlisted for a Volunteer Award at the Bristol Diversity Awards 2019. Our high-quality network of experienced Mentors form a key aspect of SETsquared’s business support programme. They offer their time for free to mentor the founders or management teams of our members, providing guidance and a new perspective to address business challenges. SETsquared Mentor, Dr Rodger W Sykes, CEO and Chairman, Thalia Design Automation Ltd. said:

“I’m a great believer in the value of “giving back” and helping early stage companies. SETsquared Bristol is a world class capability and it is a pleasure to be part of their ecosystem as a mentor. The team is excellent and the companies high quality. The processes to hook up mentors with companies are effective and level of effort and commit is flexible. There is also an excellent infrastructure in terms of training and support for both companies and mentors. I would strongly recommend to any start-up company or anyone looking to help start-ups in the Technology space.”

Over a thousand nominations for the Bristol Diversity Awards from the public have been narrowed down to just 3 contenders in each category, with the winners being announced at the ceremony on Saturday 18th May at Mercure Holland House.
