Twelve innovative tech startups join our community

We are thrilled to welcome twelve new startup companies joining our incubation programme at the start of 2023.

The new cohort represents a variety of sectors as well as creative uses of technology to help solve some of the world’s biggest problems, from improved access to healthcare and education to achieving net zero.

Polly Pale, Founder of Alo MundusFour of the new companies are from the greentech sector including urban forestry investment platform Alo Mundus. CEO and Founder Polly Pale was awarded our Breakthrough Bursary to join the programme. She said:

“I’m thrilled to join SETsquared Bristol’s community to take Alo Mundus to the next stage. We’re looking forward to the business support sessions and mentorship, as well as tapping into its investor network.”

Other greentech companies include Wider Sensing whose AI solution is designed to support investment in biodiversity, Zori Tex who is eliminating textile waste going to landfill and incineration, and Drift Energy, the world’s first mobile class of renewable energy.

Innovation in healthtech is also strong, with four new startups joining our largest sector. This includes University of Bristol spin-out, Rosa Biotech who is improving disease diagnosis through protein design and machine learning.

Siloton, a remote monitoring service for eye health, also began its startup journey at the University of Bristol, with pre-incubation support at the Quantum Technology Enterprise Centre (QTEC) and lab space at the Quantum Technologies Innovation Centre (QTIC).

Buddy Apps – creates digital life support tools. Their product, myCopilot.ai, helps internet users manage addictive online habits.

Drift Energy – build sail ships that follow ocean wind and generate MW’s of green energy at sea, which can then be delivered to ports around the world in the form of true green hydrogen.

Infinifty – an advanced web3 creator platform that enables anyone to send or sell digital assets to anybody in the World via NFT.

Printelligently – provides businesses with a platform for new out of home advertising opportunities. Their first product is Shady car sunshades which offers sun-protection and freedom to open your car window.

Rosa Biotech – provides patients and clinicians with the benefits of early diagnosis of a broad spectrum of diseases by combining the power of protein design and machine learning.

Save Oom – Helping all young children learn phonics independently – accelerating their ability to read quicker, better.

Siloton – a remote monitoring service for patients with age-related macular degeneration and similar retinal diseases, providing broader access to therapy while reducing the costs of healthcare delivery.

Wilder Sensing – a SaaS platform to enable large scale biodiversity data to be analysed using machine learning to provide data driven insights to investors, land managers and ecologists.

Zori Tex – eliminates textile waste to landfill and incineration through technology innovation.
